Project LATE - English Summary

Project LATE has started in the Finnish town of Nokia. The project's main goal is to engage students in learning by using SMART Boards and iPads together. The project's biggest challenge so far has been to succeed in the unlikely co-operation of two ecosystems (Windows and Apple). It has been made possible by ingenious software and cloud-based services.
SMART Bridgit Conferencing software along with it's Ipad app enhances collaboration in the classroom by enabling students to monitor the SMART Board from their iPads, to interact on the content simultaneouly with other students, and to participate in a chat. SMART Notebook is used to create content to present with the SMART Board and with the Notebook app for iPad students can complete Notebook lesson activities and create their own content.
Project LATE will use the cloud-based  SMART Response VE to carry out assesments. The file transfers from teacher to students will be done  by cloud-storage services, like Dropbox. The students will send their work to teacher by email.
What you have read here are the core functions of Project LATE. There are numerous great apps that we are already testing and new ones are popping up everyday. In the middle of all excitement we promise to do an English summary at least monthly!
